Hunt, and candy. Used in the very same explanation! What could get better? She didn’t even have to hear about anything else before she was ready to go on a little egg hunt. “Candy!” The girl bounced on the front steps, wide violet hues glancing back and forth over the scenery. She didn’t really care about any of the other prizes, she barely listened long enough to hear what they were. Nothing else mattered when CANDY was involved anyway.
Unless it was a nice yummy genocide plot. But that she’d keep to herself for now. Once or twice the girl had done this kind of thing with that woman who pretended to be her mother, and Cyril. But never to such a large scale where treats could be hidden all over the city. “Candy, candy, I want candy~” She hummed, eyes looking left and right until she’d found one egg. Quickly the girl pounced on it and shook it, listening to whatever might be inside. Candy?
No, it definitely didn’t sound like there was candy in it. Popping it open she scowled at the little toy that was inside. With a huff she closed it and threw it over her shoulder, uncaring of where it may’ve landed. Cheeks puffed as she glared left and right.
Letting out a huff, the girl stood up and dusted her skirt off, hands on her hips. “If I was a crazy scientist, what eggs would I put the candy in?” Other than all of them. She produced a lollipop out of nowhere, which would tide her over until she had found a good deal of candy here.
“Did I hear something about candy?”
Right. Her. Tyki picked at his ears, a bored look washing over his features. Whine, whine, whine. Road’s words went in through one ear and out the next. Tyki could go for a smoke right now. Maybe ten smokes, actually. And a game of poker would be nice—
“For someone who says they’re not a brat you sure do complain like one.” Tyki cracked a sideways grin. “Should I pacify ya with a lollipop, kiddo?”
Road just glared at the man, lips twisting into a slight frown, one eyebrow cocking a little. He wasn’t even paying attention! The nerve! She wanted to continue shouting and throw things even, but she didn’t. So annoying! She barely bit back the hiss.
“If I looked like a ‘brat’ and didn’t act like one wouldn’t it be weird?” Her scowl deepened at the grin.”I have my own candy! I don’t need you to ‘pacify’ me with any if you’re going to be rude about it!” She turned up her nose, head turning quickly away from him.
“Oh yeah? Ya look young enough for one,” Tyki smirked. Oh he really loved getting a rise out of Road. It was a game of his that he loved to play day in and day out. He never got bored!
“That woman?” he parroted, eyebrows partially raised. “Don’t be vague. Spit it out, Road.” he flicked her on the forehead again because it would piss her off, and he would laugh.
Road puffed her cheeks out a pout on her face as she folded her arms and quickly turned her head away from her ‘uncle’ letting out a loud ‘hmph’ in the process.
“Yeah that woman. You know, the one I have to call ‘mother’ so we can all pretend to live happy normal lives?” Tch, like she wanted to consider a human part of her family. The girl would rather kill the human, but she wouldn’t. They had to keep up proper appearances.
Road’s words simply managed to anger Ardere more. She knew that in this city, and perhaps in Road’s own world, death would mean nothing. All it would be was a temporary setback to her plans.
Still, she couldn’t just ignore her duties. After all, she had been given this form upon dying as a human in order to restore balance to her own world. This place was worse than that.
Snarling, Ardere leaped again, knocking the girl to the ground and pinning her there with her considerable weight. ”Enough! You will die!”
The creature leaped for her once again, and again Road danced out of reach, Even if she couldn’t use most of her powers she still was fairly agile. Too bad she didn’t have Lero, then she could just keep flying out of range. That’d be a fun way to toy with a stranger.
“Neh~ What are you going to do if I don’t want to die? What if I kill you instead~” Most likely impossible as she had no real weapons and only one ability, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t turn the terrain into weapons. A shard of glass, a pen, anything could kill if you worked on it. And if all else failed she could get away. But she still wanted to play.
“It’s no good if you don’t hit me~” her voice carried a sing song note as she let out another giggle.
Any fun games? Beyblading was the only game he knew of, which was more or less a sport back home. Growing up he never had time for games, so he was at a loss. “No, I don’t,” he replied before raising a brow. “Yes, I am.” Due to those experiments Tala had strength, speed and endurance of a higher caliber than most of the others in the abbey and on his own team. However those characteristics toned down since leaving the abbey, but they could be called upon whenever he let his emotions get the better of him.
“What did you have in mind?”
Road walked over to a nearby building, finger dragging lightly across the glass of the window. She kept her eyes on his reflection, grin widening further as she thought. Oh how she’d love to play. Maybe with someone stronger though? Then again, she could possibly find a normal playmate, someone she didn’t need to kill right away.
“Oh~ You know, tag, or hide and seek, or maybe a sort of hunting game.” She mused glancing over her shoulder growing more and more excited at the idea of finding a good little ‘friend’ or ‘playmate’ to keep her attention fixed on.
Tyki bopped Road on the head. Stupid kids always saying stupid things that would put them into stupid situations. He poked her forehead repeatedly.
“You say that now till you’re bent over, rump in the air, getting a spanking.” Why was she even doing homework anyways? Not like she needed logarithms in order to control an army of akuma.
“STOP IT!” Road shouted whacking at his hands! Why was he doing that!? It was annoying her, and it was really bothersom.
“I’m too old for a spanking.” Did he forget she was older than any of the others? Well next to the Earl. Just because she looked like a brat, and acted like one really didn’t mean she WAS one. And that was beginning to piss her off right now. “Millennie won’t spank me, and neither will Cyril. I doubt that woman would either.”
Ardere’s growls deepened. Those were arguments she had fought herself over many times, and she still wasn’t completely satisfied that she didn’t actually deserve death herself. ”I give plenty of thought to the lives I take,” she snarled, “every single one.”
The girl didn’t even seem to be listening… she was happy. Happy at the idea of killing people.
Leaping forward, Ardere swept her head at Road’s legs, intending to knock her to the ground. ”Being alive gives a human the potential to become better,” she snarled. ”And dying gives them the chance to live and try again. Perhaps you’d be lucky enough to come back as one.”
Spinning back around to face Road, she prepared to leap again, her teeth bared.
Oh? Did she strike a nerve? “I wonder about that~” She teased in a sing song voice. The child stood there with hands behind her back still. Not ready to go into full defensive, or offensive modes. It was amusing to watch the dragon girl for now. And continue to act like this was a game. Or at least it would have been… If she hadn’t been saying some stupid things.
All innocence vanished from her face. A slight glint to her eyes, her face became more calm A slight smile on her lips, eyebrows drawn down to form a glare. “The potential to get better?” There was a slow drawl to her voice.
“You’re talking about humans?” There tone grew mocking as she laughed. “Those fucking worthless pieces of shit?” She scoffed. Her expression remained hard as she jumped out of the other’s reach. “I wouldn’t want to become one of those things. They’re no better then insects. Justifying actions no matter what they do. They should all be wiped from the earth.”
Road let out another, shriller laugh at the idea of coming back as one. “Even if you managed to kill me, I would come back, not as a human though. Lucky me, huh?”
“Mhm. Sure you do.” Tyki yawned, ruffling Road’s hair. Kid’s say the darnest things. “Quit complaining. You have to do it or else the Earl with get mad at you.”
“Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh?! I think Milleni will be fine if I don’t do it~”
After all why did she still need schooling with her age? She didn’t want to do it. She just wanted to laze around and eat her sweets. Why should she go to school or any of that?
